微生物学基础实验是高等院校生物工程专业、食品科学与工程专业、食品质量与安全专业、环境工程专业、环境生态工程专业一门重要的专业基础课,也是连接生物、食品和环境方向微生物学理论与实践的桥梁。它不仅是检验微生物理论的主要载体,也是生物工程专业、食品科学与工程专业、食品质量与安全专业、环境工程专业、环境生态工程专业学生掌握微生物实验操作技能、培养科学兴趣的重要途径,是相关专业学生后期有序开展微生物学综合实验的重要基础和衔接环节。本课程特别聚焦环境、食品和生物方向专业特色,使不同专业学生掌握自身专业领域的微生物学基础实验技能。主要包括:规范的无菌操作和微生物实验室安全操作技能;熟练采用显微技术和染色技术观察微生物的不同形态特征;掌握传统培养方法进行微生物的分离与纯化;学生运用微生物学基础实验的原理和方法,能够独立判断和正确选用微生物实验室的工具,规范地开展微生物样品的采样、 培养、 染色和计数;具备一定的数据分析及报告撰写能力;逐步地培养学生科学创新的思维方法;养成严谨求实的工作作风和独立思考、分析问题的能力;具备良好的团队意识和科学素养;为后续的微生物综合实验的技能训练及今后科学实验的开展打下坚实基础。

Basic Experiment of Microbiology is a major specialized basic course of biological engineering, food science and engineering, food quality and safety, environmental engineering, environmental and ecological engineering students. This curriculum is a bridge that connects the theory and practice of microbiology in biology, food and environment. It is not only the main carrier of verifying microbiology theories, but also the necessary pass for biological engineering, food science and engineering, food quality and safety, environmental engineering, environmental and ecological engineering students to acquire basic microbiology experimental skills and develop scientific interest. It is an important basis and link to conduct the following comprehensive experiment of microbiology successfully. This course especially focuses on the specialty characteristics of environment, food and biology, so that students from different majors can master the basic experimental skills of microbiology in their own field, which consist of proficiently use microscopy and staining skills to observe different morphological characteristics of microorganism. Master traditional culture methods to isolate and purify microorganism. Students can estimate independently and choose the correct tools in microbiological labs using the principles and methods of basic experiments of microbiology, and perform appropriate laboratory procedures with regard to sampling, culturing, staining and quantifying microbes; grasp the general strategies and considerations for microorganisms morphology, isolation, purification and cultivation; application of critical analysis of experimental data and presentations; develop students' scientific innovative thinking methods, rigorous and realistic work styles, the ability of independent thinking and analyzing problems; positive team spirit and scientific literacy. It would lay a solid foundation for the skill training of microbiological comprehensive experiments and the development of future scientific research.
